Richard A. Hanson

Called home to the Lord on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at age 88. Beloved husband of the late Judith J. (nee Priebe) for 64 years. Dear father of Sue (John) Boehler, Jim (Mary) Hanson, and Sandy (The late Jim) Heida. Loving grandfather of Shannen (Richard) Ellis, and Zach and Sarah Heida. Loving great-grandfather of Masen and Ryleigh Ellis.  Dear brother of Nancy Nelson and the late Beverly Ruffert. Brother-in-law of the late Carol Grunert. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a devout Christian, always volunteering his time at church. He was also a great role model and supporter, always showing his love to those around him, especially his family and friends.  Some of the things that he enjoyed that created the best memories include:
  • Weekly golf outings with family and friends
  • Telling stories that could make anyone laugh
  • Playing cards
  • Being on the edge of his seat during every Packer game
He poured his heart and soul into his relationship with Judy, who he is now dancing with in Heaven. He will be greatly missed here on Earth, but we know we will join hands again someday
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024, at OUR FATHERS LUTHERAN CHURCH (6025 S 27th St) from 4pm until the time of service at 6:30pm. Entombment at Forest Home Cemetery.
If so desired, memorials to Our Fathers Lutheran Church appreciated.

We are so sorry to lose Rich. But knowing he is together with Judy again is very comforting. My family grew up next to Rich and Judy and they were like my second parents. We celebrated many events with them as well as trips to Vegas. Rest in peace. We will miss you.

We will miss Dick very much. Him and Judy are together in heaven watching over us all.
Both were family to us as well as the Boehlers. They were at our wedding and there is a picture of Dick smiling proudly. We have spent many holidays with the family including Father’s Day in recent years as Dick was “dad” to both of us. Blessed to have had them in our lives.
