Cimpl, Atty. Richard F. “Dick”

Born to eternal life on June 16, 2016 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Dolores (nee Kuligowski). Dear Father of the Hon. Dennis (Nancy), Dave (Marie), Debby (Bill) Nicklas, Dean (Julie) and Donna (Tom) Verhein. Proud grandpa of Allie (Jamie), Andy, Jason, Christina (Kevin), Will (Jen), Theresa, Matt, Geoff, Leslie, Nick and Ashley. Proud great-grandpa of Jack and Evie. Fond brother of Marie Stremke and Bea (Paul) Sebastian and brother-in-law of Tom (Lorraine) Ogorchock and Wally Kelpien. Preceded in death by his sister Ceil Barwick, brother Gil, brothers-in-law Marv Stemke and Bill Barwick and sister-in-law MaryAnn Kelpien. Further survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and business associates.

Dick was a life long resident of Milwaukee. He served honorably in WWII as a member of the Army’s 42nd Rainbow Division in the European Theatre and was a recipient of The Bronze Star. After the war, he earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School (Class of 1949). He spent his long legal career primarily in the real estate industry working at Title Underwriters, Lawyers Title and Chicago Title. He also had a private law practice for many years on Milwaukee’s south side.

Dick was actively involved in many organizations through the years, including the Knights of Columbus (Council #524-4th Degree Bishop Henni Assembly), Milwaukee SW Kiwanis (Founding Member), Milwaukee Society, Serra Club, St. Joseph’s Foundation, Milwaukee Bar Assn., State Bar of Wisconsin, Thomas More Society and the Southside Businessmen’s Club. He also served on many committees and volunteer groups at his home parish, Blessed Sacrament Church.

Special thanks to Dr. V.K. Rao, Dr. Jeffrey Derus and the staffs of Hales Corners Care Center and Zilber Hospice for all the recent care and comfort they gave to Dick.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Monday June 20, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church, (41st and Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee, WI). Visitation from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dick’s name to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
