“Ornery, bullheaded, stubborn and loveable.” That is what Richard would say every time I asked him how he was doing. I met him years ago when I started working at the Madison VA. He would come to our clinic every few months and continued to do so even after he moved.

For me, he was always a bright spot. A veteran with a fun-loving a can-do spirit and get-it-done attitude. It was always a treat to talk with him. The stories he shared of his memorable experiences left me laughing and always looking forward to his next visit. Mostly we talked about his Kubota tractor, fishing, his bride Judy, and his family.

I am very saddened to learn of his passing and wish Judy and his family comfort in the many memories you shared with him.
