Found Peace on November, 12 2010 at age 79 at home with his wife YvonneNee Wirkowski with whom he would have celebrated his 58th wedding anniversary. He will be missed by his children Leslie Mary Block, Pamela Gerd Hodermann, Carolyn Brian Gasse, and Mark Debbie Block. Grandfather of Kali, Brandon, Karin, Kurt, Alexandra, Angela, Dayja, Trish, Kristi, Kenneth, Justin, Evan, and Rachael. Great grandfather of Kaiden, Andrew, Kyle, Steele, Masen, Trey, Drew and Lincoln. Brother of Jeanette Edward Knuth and Paul Sandee Block of Black Mountain, NC. Brother –in-law of Melvin Tess, Gerri Stelter, Delores and Herbert Scholbe. Preceded in death by parents Victor Vernon and EthelNee Benz, and sister Shirley Tess. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation Monday at Nain Evangelical Lutheran Church 1665 S 57th St West Allis from 1 to 3 PM with memorial service to follow 3PM.
Richard attended St Peters Evangelical Lutheran Grade School and South Division High School. He was an employee of Babcock and Wilcox Co. and Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation. Memorials to Nain Ev. Lutheran Church, The High Ground Veterans Memorial , or Wisconsin Humane Society appreciated.
