Robert Frank
Zbleski

Robert (aka “Bob” or “Bobby”) F. Zbleski peacefully passed away at home on Thursday October 10, 2024 at the age of 88, with his family by his side.

Bob served his country in the United State Air Force for 22 years during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War as a decorated reconnaissance photographer. Taking his family with him, he was stationed at Air Force bases in New Mexico, Michigan, Texas, Utah, and overseas in Turkey. He also took temporary assignments to other countries whenever the opportunity was offered to him. After his time in the Air Force, Bob worked another 21 years for Briggs & Stratton. After his retirement from Briggs, Bob kept busy with various jobs painting, cleaning the church, and other odds and ends. He also took great joy in caring for his beloved wife Barbara during their golden years.

In his free time, Bob looked forward to muskie fishing up north, playing sheepshead, and avidly supported the Green Bay Packers. He loved hanging out with “the boys” and spending time with his grandkids and family. He also took pride in maintaining his lawn and flowerbeds.

A tenderhearted man, Bob was always willing to lend a helping hand. He lit up the room with his quick wit and smile, and always had interesting stories to tell. He was the life of the party and made friends easily. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Katherine and Frank; twin brother Ron; son-in-law Thumper; cousins Glen, Lars, and Charlene.

Bob is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Traci, Carol (Steve), and Roban Joy; grandchildren Zeb, Erika (Chris), Jason (Rebecca), Tyler (Kim), Rachel (Sean), and Josh; great-grandchildren Trula, Sophia, and Lucas; sisters Pat and Ann (Eddy); cousins Donna, Bart, Linda, and Nancy; nieces Jillian, Dana, Sara (Justin), Amy (Ben), Kathy (George), Star, and Tammy; nephews “Big” Mike and Tim; and great-nephews Ethan and Henry.  Bob is also remembered by many other family members and dear friends. Please share this obituary and service times with other friends that may have known Bob.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 4:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m., at Layton Avenue Baptist Church, 9600 W Layton Ave, Greenfield, WI 53228. Burial will be on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
