Robert received his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, majoring in economics and marketing. His strong convictions regarding the importance of education carried through his personal attendance pursuing continual educational courses and seminars at Marquette University, Syracuse University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A veteran, Robert was proud to be an American and served as a U.S. Army Counterintelligence Corp. Special Agent. Robert Kitchen was a dedicated employee of Cuttler-Hammer/Eaton Corp. He retired as a Vice-President and General Manager of the Aero Space Division.
So strong were his beliefs on education that Bob spent the last 20 years on the West Allis-West Milwaukee school board, serving not only on multiple committees, but as President for several years. His community was also very important to him. Robert was a resident and homeowner 45+ years in West Allis. There he was active on the West Allis Capital Improvements committee, community communications corp. board of directors and a host of other civic functions and special projects. He was a member of the St. Gregory the Great Parish, active in the Holy Name, Parish festivals, Parish Councils, a lecturer, acolyte, and Eucharistic minister for many years.
He lived with God and Family by his side, believed in opening doors of opportunity, and died an accomplished Husband, Father, Grandfather, and most of all the Greatest Great-Grandfather any family ever deserved. He touched our lives, our hearts, and our souls! In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s name will be made to the Charities of the Family’s choice.
