Born to eternal life on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Age 97 years. Beloved husband of the late Grace (nee Reiss). Dear father of Katherine (Ken) Kraft and Robert (Carole) Ries. Loving grandfather of Megan, Sarah (Alex) and Michael (Jing). Caring brother of Pauline Robinson and the late Edward Ries. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7877 N. Port Washington Road, Glendale, from 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm. The Rev. Thomas Schmitt officiating. Luncheon at the church to follow. Private family burial at Forest Home Cemetery.

Robert was a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel, WWII Veteran and POW. His family would like to extend special thanks for the wonderful and loving support received from his church, dedicated caregivers and health professionals at Aurora Health Care during the final years of his life. Abiding faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Church, has most certainly assured him everlasting peace in heaven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) would be appreciated.
