Robert “Rob” Ray

Robert “Rob” Ray, age 48, of Franklin, WI, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2024 from septic shock. Born on November 6, 1975, in Eagle River, WI, Rob was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who left the world a little brighter and a lot funnier.
Rob is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Beth Ray, whose marriage was filled with mutual respect, love and friendship. His spirit lives on through his children, Emma Henzig (Ryan) and Alex Ray (Sara Clavette) and his brother, James Ray (Claudia). Rob was also loved and supported throughout his life by many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws across the globe and is now reunited with his mother (Jeanne Ray) and favorite uncle (Don Parker).
Rob had much success throughout his career in sales, a profession through which he formed many lasting friendships. His work was not just a job; it was a testament to his ability to have a conversation with anyone about literally anything.
Rob’s friends and family will always remember his ability to deliver the perfect sarcastic joke at just the right moment, a talent that brought smiles to many faces throughout his life. He had a wide variety of interests; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, a highly competitive fan of football, baseball, and hockey, and had an exceptional talent for sketching and woodworking. He was the handyman who could fix anything, the guy who could outsmart any problem, and the intelligent soul who knew that laughter was the best tool in any kit.
Rob’s journey on this earth reminds us that life is a precious gift. Let us honor his memory by finding humor in everything we do and cherishing the time we have with our loved ones. The memories we hold dear will always remind us of the wonderful man we were privileged to know.
“Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch.”

In the time I new Rob as my co-worker at ASCS, he was a man with such a positive outlook on all the challenges of work & life alike. My first travel trip in WI. with Rob, he joked about his old Garmin GPS system as we set out, and how sometimes it lead him off the beaten path. Well sure enough we ended up on a county gravel road in someone’s driveway as our destination. We were supposed to be at one of our largest customers factory facility’s. Well we both pulled out our phones to see if we could find our way, We had a good laugh about that, and a memory to share. God Bless you Rob, and my thoughts and prayers with all family and friends. He was truly one of the good guys.

Dear Beth, kids, family, Jimmy and friends,

I did not get to see Rob but a couple times while we raised our kids in the last 25 yrs but I loved him and Jimmy like little brothers., He was a spit-ten image of his Uncle Don whose my Dad. What a smile and those eyes! Such a fun loving guy! Very very sad news this has been and I’m so especially sad for Beth and the kids. Rob had a wonderful upbringing in the north woods which definitely came thru in his hunting/fishing passions. I would like to say his. talent for drawing goes way back! He taught me how to play chess when he was young. He always knew how to entertain himself. I’m not surprised he got good at wood working either! I knew his mother very well and she had a very big heart and I do believe Rob had a huge heart as well. I just have a feeling he’s going to stick around watching over his family. He will be so very missed and I have major regrets as most of us cousins now probably do is the would ofs, could ofs, and Should have’s. Life is def short and his life was taken way too prematurely! Although he has his Grandma who helped raise him, Mother, Dad, Uncle, and many other relatives awaiting to see him now. I hope he knows how proud of him we were!! Miss him and I sincerely am sorry for this very sad loss. God bless to the Rays and to the Rest of Beths family and his friends.
