Of Franksville Mon. Feb. 14th 2005 age 60yrs.

Steve was born in Baltimore, MD on June 24, 1944 to Dr Earl X. Thompson and Marian Classen.

Dear Father of Edward Jayne and Rathe Betty Thompson. Loving Grandfather of Elizabeth and Laura J. Thompson. Dear friend of Laura Sisson-Thompson. Cousin of Thomas, Linda and Mike Harmon. Among his many good friends who helped him along his way are Dan Hintz, Clarence Schwind, Harvey Bernhardt, Larry Klosiewski, Bob McDermott, Ron Condroski, Dan and Joan Grontkowski, Rev. Dean Natterstad, Chuck Miles, Lori Pitroski, the Jensen Metal Products Family, and special thanks to Dr Benjamin Brooks of UW Madison ALS Clinic. Further survived by other family and many, many dear friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat morning 9:00am at ST. LOUIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Hwy G and I-94 in Caledonia. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Fri. at the funeral home from 4:00pm until the time of a prayer service at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Sat. at the church from 8:00am until the time of Mass 9am.

Steve was actively involved in developing and teaching motorcycle safety courses at Gateway Technical College and MATC. Steve was also proud to be the founder of the ALS Ride for Research for the ALS S.E. WI Chapter, a member of HOG and a founding member of the Midwest Watch Fob Association. One of Steve?s favorite pastimes was to rebuild HD Motorcycles and to buy, sell and trade motorcycle accessories. Steve?s crowning achievement was riding his Honda Helix Scooter to the Arctic Circle.

He will be Sorely missed by his housemates Amee, Oscar and Alvin. In lieu of Flowers, memorials to the Southeastern Wisconsin ALS Ride for Research appreciated.
