Tucholka, Robert “Uncle Bob”, Age 81

After a battle with cancer, Bob passed away peacefully at home late Monday evening December 5, 2011 surrounded by his immediate family.
Beloved husband of Rita nee Pyszczynski for 56 wonderful years. Loving father of Barb Steve Tucholka and their two girls Angela and Christina Evan Weickardt. Great Uncle to Haley and Tyler Weickardt. Survived by his sisters Marge, Ruth, Irene and brothers Jack, Carl and David. Preceded in death by his brother John and his sister Dorothy. Further survived by many other family and friends.

Bob was born in Milwaukee November 17th 1930. His passion included cars and vehicles fixing, tinkering, MacGyver’ing and repairs and sketching. In January of 1953, a few years after graduating Boys Tech High School and following the footsteps of his older brothers, Bob enlisted in the Army National Guard in January of 1953 toward the end of the Korean War. He served as a Sergeant in the 32nd Division as a Motor Pool Mechanic and was sent oversees to Germany. He was able to explore Germany and parts of Europe on leaves on a rented motorcycle. This is where Bob learned his love of good German food, beer and especially Rhine wine.
Upon honorable discharge from the military he married his sweetheart Rita on June 25th 1955 on a beautiful summer day in Milwaukee. Ten years later they adopted their 8 week old daughter Barb. Bob was a salesman for Southside Sales then Esser Paint Company, which was eventually purchased by Diamond Vogel, from which he retired in 1995.
“Uncle Bob”, as the most of the family lovingly referred to him, will be remembered for his warm smile and laughter and will be dearly missed by all who was lucky enough to meet or know him.

Visitation Saturday, December 10 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CHURCH, 2733 W. Euclid Ave. from 9:30 – 11:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment and Military Honors at Chapel Hill Memorial Park to follow.
