Passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the age of 56 years after a brave battle with cancer. Husband of the late Laurie. Dear father and friend of Vincent Jessi DeMarinis, Lucy-Beth Fritchey and Veronica Joe Cieslak. Proud ?Papa Ray? of Kady-Jo, Ian, Joey, Mia, Lily, Iggy, Maddi and Makenna. Dear son of Bertie and the late James Fritchey. Former husband and best friend of Josie DeMarinis. Brother of Jimmy Brenda Fritchey of Brunswick, GA, Roger Jennifer Fritchey of Naples, FL, Linda Don Hazel of Columbia City, IN, Karen Buddy Guida of Naples, FL and brother-in-law of Rosie John Latter. Also survived by step-children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Ray will be held Monday, August 9th 5:00pm at Club Garibaldi, 2901 S. Superior St.
Ray was born in Clewiston, FL and moved to Milwaukee, where he graduated from Bay View High School. He then returned to Florida and was the co-founder of Fritchey?s Tree Farm and Nursery in Naples, FL. He was and active member of AMVETS, serving as the Sons of AMVETS, Post No. 23 Commander. Ray also served as an SAL Officer of the American Legion, Post No. 135.
