Rose K. Schwindt

Schwindt, Rose K. nee Oprean Died quietly on Dec. 22, 2009 at the age of 92 yrs. Loving wife of the late Frank, and best mom of Dan Carol, Betty the late Vern Connelly and Mary Paul Merkel. Rose is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Joe Eva Oprean of CA and many other relatives and friends.
Born in 1917, Rose never had it easy…she learned early to work hard and keep her head down. Self-taught, there was nothing she couldn’t make, bake, cook, sew, grow or do. No problem was too big, no job too hard.
Rose was a quiet little lady with a big heart, a warm smile and a helping hand. She loved to shop, walk, travel, gamble, bowl and fish. Above all, she loved her family and took us through many tragedies with strength, courage, dignity and laughter.
Rose lived with Betty during the last difficult 10 years of her life. She never gave up, never complained and always kept smiling. Special thanks to Ruth Hospice for making her final days comfortable. May her beautiful soul finally rest in peace.
A graveside service will be held Mon. Dec. 28 at HOLY CROSS CEMETERY CHAPEL, 7301 W. Nash Street at 11:00 am. If so desired, Memorials to St. Judes Childrens Hospital appreciated.
