Ruben Hernandez

Juvencio “Ruben” Hernandez was Born to Eternal Life on August 23, 2023, age 84 years.  Preceded in death by his beloved wife Ana Celia and cherished granddaughter Melinda Ivette Rodriguez.  Loving father of Nancy (Angel) Cruz, Jimmy Hernandez and Jose Manuel Hernandez.  Cherished grandfather of Loretta (Eli Peralta) Hernandez, Angelica (Brandon Johnson) Huyke, James Wheeles Hernandez, Ethan Karaszewski, Kaylani Marie Hernandez and Juliana Celia Hernandez. Proud great-grandfather of Immanuel, Dalilah, Eliza and Lennox.  Dear brother of Rafael Hernandez and Antonia Cancel.  Further survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, his Saint Francis of Assisi Church Family as well as many other good and dear friends.

Ruben was a man of great faith – and not just on Sundays, where he was a pillar of the St. Francis of Assisi Church community – he lived his faith daily.  He went out of his way to offer rides to church, the bank or the grocery store to those who did not drive and was always one of the first people to visit someone in the hospital – he was someone you could count on.  He also enjoyed playing dominos and occasionally the slot machines at Potawatomi.  Ruben was a hard worker and good provider – his family never lacked for a thing, but he provided his family with so much more than things for their physical needs.  He showed them through how he lived his life not only how to be a good person, but what it means to be a good Christian.  He was a kind and loving soul who put his family first and walked in faith.

Ruben will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

The family wishes to thank the nurses at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee and Horizon Hospice for their extraordinary and compassionate care as well as the countless friends and family members who came to visit Ruben.
