Was welcomed into heaven on Oct. 13, 2003. Age 82. Beloved and devoted husband and friend of Rose nee Orlando for 59-1/2 years. Adored father of Patricia Cook Nielson. Cherished Boppa of Deborah Czaja nee Nielson. Beloved brother-in-law and special friend of Tony Sadie nee Orlando Machi. Also survived by 3 nieces, 5 nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Wanda Dillow and Marjorie Prebyl of Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial Fri., 11:00 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church S. 60th St. and W. Oklahoma Ave. with Visitation from 10:00 AM untill time of Service. Retired from Wisconsin Bell after 26 years. He served his country aboard the U.S.S. Fulton during WWII. He was a member of the DAV, the Wisconsin Bell Retired Members Club and the ICC. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Bruce B. Berry, other doctors and their medical staffs for their care of Russell. Also and many thanks to all the wonderful nurses and medical staff at St. Luke’s Medical Center and to the nurses and nursing assistants at the VNA. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the VNA, the ICC or the charity of your choice appreciated. HE WAS A JOY TO ALL WHO KNEW HIM.
