WEGNER, Ruth Anna Fredricka
Found Peace and went home to her Lord on Sunday September 16, 2001. Born on November 7, 1920 to Martha & Edward Kanter in Milwaukee. She was Baptised, Raised and Confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. Ruth graduated from South Division High School in June 1938, then attended Milwaukee Business University. Upon graduation, Ruth worked at a variety of Downtown Businesses including Braumeister Brewery, the Medford Hotel & Atty. Jeanette Mett. Following a WWII courtship, Ruth married Paul Harvey Wegner on April 13, 1946. Their son, Carl Paul, was born on February 23, 1947. Ruth & Paul were longtime active, faithfull members of Oklahoma Avenue Lutheran Church. In 1955, Ruth began a 21 year career as parish Secretary of Oklahoma Avenue, serving many years with Pastor Martin Eggers. She was very active in the church as a member of the Ladies aid Society, Bethel teacher and a variety of other comittees. Husband Paul passed away on December 23, 1995.

Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and friends, expecially her son, Carl and daughter-in-law, Angela. She is also survived by sisters in law, Faith Kanter, Corrinne Wegner & Dorothy Wegner. Nieces and Nephews Jean Rich St. John, Janet Larry Lindemann, John Nancy Kanter, Jeff Tracy Wegner & Debbie Wegner. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation Wednesday September 19, 2001 from 11:00 AM – 12 Noon at Oklahoma Ave. Lutheran Church with Funeral service at 12 Noon. Interment Highland Memorial Park.

Her Family wishes to express their thanks to the Staff at The Lutheran Home for the Aging for the care and comfort they gave Ruth in her last years.
