Ruth E. Wasniewski (Nee Wickerson)

• A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 10:30AM-12:00PM at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME 4800 S. 84th St. Followed by a service at 12:00PM. Burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery following service.

RUTH WASNIEWSKI, nee Wickerson, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the age of 100 (and 2 months!).

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Frank, the love of her life; her oldest daughter Lynne Kirchhoff; parents Steve and Helen; and her older sister Evelyn Sobczak-Allie.

She is survived by her daughters Lois Morrow and Lori (Al) Hutto, grandchildren PJ and Ashleigh Morrow, her son-in-law Fred Kirchhoff, and other family members and friends.

Ruth was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from South Division High School, worked as a secretary and later as a teacher’s aide for Milwaukee Public Schools for 30+ years until her retirement at the age of 81.  She enjoyed roller skating at The Palomar and dancing (in her younger years!), a wide variety of music, spending time with her family, playing bingo, reading, and traveling – especially to the Minocqua area and Beaver Dam, as well as Las Vegas, Hawaii, Florida, and California.

Ruth’s family, and all who knew her, will miss her bright smile, big hugs, her goofiness, singing, her unending support, and her witch laugh.  She was the best Mom and Granny anyone could ever ask for.  Her greatest joy was always us – her daughters and two grandchildren – as well as anyone we brought into our family.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Clement Manor for the excellent care they gave their “Ruthie Baby”, as well as the caring and helpful staff of Allay Home & Hospice.
