I had the beautiful honor and privilege of being the HOUSE MANAGER where Miss Ruthie resided. She quickly became a staff favorite. One thing I learned very quickly is that she was both very passionate and protective of her family. She was always thrilled to see them. I loved that she had a family that even at 98 years old treasured her. I loved that she was never lonely and always had someone there to visit with her. We don’t see it very often, but it was so nice to know that at ANY time someone in the family was available to talk to her if she needed it. Although she loved all her children, without a shadow of doubt all the girls knew it was VINCE they could call if they couldn’t get her settled. I am not sure why, but I can only contribute it to her heart but, we built a warm and sweet friendship that truly made my heart smile. I will always remember the first time she told me that she loved me. I was leaving to go home, and she said that I forgot something. I asked her what I forgot? She said to wait for me to say I love you back!! Oh, I was floored because I would say it every day and she never said anything back to me, At any rate, she will be terribly missed. I have nothing but love for Miss Ruthie and her entire family.
