Ryan Patrick
Gannon

Everyone who met Ryan knew he was special. Special, in the truest sense of the word. He had a special smile, a special laugh, a special gleam in his eye, and a most special ability to recall virtually every detail of every incident that occurred in the last 30 years (especially the most embarrassing ones).   Ryan possessed an uncommon wit, an especially effective use of sarcasm, and an uncanny 25 foot jump shot (which won him many games of HORSE , and really brought out that gleam in his eye).

Most importantly, Ryan gave and received an inordinate amount of special love. He had a special love for his aunts and uncles and cousins, for being up north fishing, for every single Wisconsin sports team in any sport – for life in general. Ryan’s most special love was reserved for his mom and dad, Mary and Gary Gannon, and his older brother, Patrick, whom he never got to meet.

Ryan passed away peacefully at his group home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the age of 49.  Ryan missed his dad, Gary, immensely and will now join Gary and Patrick in heaven. Here on earth, Ryan is survived by his loving mom, Mary, and many heartbroken aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Infinity Group Home and Badger Hospice for their care of Ryan over the last couple years.

There will be a brief remembrance of Ryan’s life at the Conservancy for Healing and Heritage on 74th and Rawson Avenue at Noon on Sunday, September 8th, with a social gathering and celebration to follow at a nearby (TBD) location.

I’m so sorry! My heart is broken. Some of my best memories growing up are with Ryan included. He has always been such a character, charming, funny, sweet, kind and thoughtful. He’s going to be missed but I know he’s with his family in heaven, no longer suffering. Mary, you are an exceptional Mom and you gave Ryan the best life! Remember that! I love and miss all of you ❤️❤️❤️

It is so very hard to believe and difficult to accept that this sweet, loveable Kid is gone before us. His laughter and excitement over sports, not to mention his genius, was a joy to experience. Yes, Mary is the world’s best mom! I will miss Ryan as much as I still miss Gary. Love, thoughts and prayers to the family!
