Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Sam was a good friend for 69 years even though we shared little time together in our adult lives.. I regret, now, we didn’t spend more time together

    Aunt Karen and Family,
We wish you peace and comfort in the days to come.
I will miss my Uncle Sam and have many wonderful memories, especially from my childhood. One of my favorite memories is of Uncle Sam’s VHS library back in the 80’s. He was so organized, with every single episode of “Cheers” labeled and categorized. I was fascinated.
Another great memory was, of course, going to Brewer games and the incredible (yes, I can still remember) breads from the bakery “on the other side of the tracks.”
He will be missed here on earth, but we will all be reunited one day and it will be glorious.
    Much love,
Andrea, Phil, Lucas, Zach and Bethany

It was so wonderful to be around Sam when ever we came to see him. Some of the best times was when he and Karen stopped to
Lacrosse and the four of us went to Treasure Island for two nights in Red Wing Mn. On the way back to Lacrosse they stopped back to Lacrosse again to spend the night at our house withe playing Yatzy and having wonderful conversations. In the morning we always stopped off for breakfast at the Nut Bush or the Hungry Peddler. We looked forward to those events so much. What beautiful memories we had there and I will never forget them! Lynn

I met Sam many years ago when I had the good fortune to meet with him and Karen on a yearly basis for lunch at the “Zacharias Cafe”.
The three of us would chat about many things. His kindness and caring spirit were always present. What was a trait that I really admired was his dry sense of humor. I will always cherish that. He always made me feel that I truly belonged at that table, somewhat like a family member, which I really valued.
Looking at the video of his life only confirms to me the love he had for his family and those who were fortunate enough to be part of his world.
I am so glad you were part of my life, and I will miss you.

My first meeting with Sammy was an invitation to a Brewers Game with his incredible seating behind home plate. I was quickly adopted into their Family and soon had become a fixture at each and every Holiday fighting over Anne’s Cherry Pie with Sam.
I will miss you my friend. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your family.
