Sandra Marie Banaszak

Passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the age of 80. Preceded in death by her beloved mother, Helen Banaszak and her loving sister, Audrey Brooks. She is survived by her loving family and partner, Susan Farmer and daughter, Haili Farmer.

Following graduation from Riverside High School, Sandy enlisted in the US Army. She enjoyed careers in hair dressing and real estate. The majority of Sandy’s career was working as a Licensed Practical Nurse and retiring from the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Sandy loved animals, adopting many wonderful dogs and cats throughout her life. They will be wagging their tails when they see their Mama again.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff at the VA hospital particularly the staff on 9 C north for providing exemplary quality of care, quality of life, and professionalism during the most difficult time of our lives.

    Dearest Sandy,

I will miss you my girl! I will miss our moments of prayer and singing “fly me to the moon” I will miss your many stories about “woody” and your joy and support of me adopting my kittens “‘major” and “‘meya”. I never got a chance to visit Empire Fish company for smoked salmon and other smoked fishes or Sendiks to compare whose fish was the best….. but when I do finally go my dear, i’ll think of you. You were more than my patient. You were truly a friend. Until we meet again.

To Sue, you were a rare a precious gem to Sandy. Her love and admiration for you which was constantly expressed was commendable. Many of us strive to make an impact in another’s life the way you did in Sandy’s. God bless you in this time of bereavement. To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord. Take care always. Kindest regards and deepest sympathies to all of you. Haili, your mother loved you so much and there was not a moment passed that Sandy did not share with all whom would listen about her love for her daughter. May God be with you.

Sandy, although I haven’t been in contact with you since Riverside High School when you were my locker partner and when we were in grade school together I still remember you!
My deepest sympathy to your family.
