Nee Baldwin Long-time Elm Grove resident, danced into heaven on November 11, 2012, rejoining her beloved “Mr. B” Jack Baumgardner and sister Mary Lou Connolly. Always active and social, Shirley loved dancing, going out with friends, hot fudge sundaes, tea and talk and laughter, snagging a good bargain when shopping, big band music and sailing. But most of all she loved time with her family, who so loved her back, including “little brother” David Shauna Singh Baldwin, who always held a special place in her heart.
She especially cherished her children Jill Neil Palmer Varick, Brian Jenny Varick, Jeff Deedee Varick and Wendy Dave DeSmidt Varick, and very wonderful grandchildren Kelsey, Alex and Claire Palmer, Jaimee Ballogh, and Sabrina and Alexandra Varick who loved their “Grandma Udi”.
Shirley was a very special lady who treated everyone with kindness and respect. She was filled with life and love and laughter, and we’re all so much better for having had her in our lives.
Special thanks to all the friends and medical staff who supported us through this journey, especially the wonderful people at Froedtert Hospital—Dr. James Thomas , Yee Lan Wong and Megan Jilling. She was truly blessed by your care and concern.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Atrium of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, 1260 Church St., Elm Grove, followed by a memorial mass at 1 p.m. If desired, memorials may be made to the Elm Grove Public Library or Marquette University. Or better yet, share a kind act or smile with someone today. Shirley would have liked that.
