December 10, 2010 age 82 years. nee – Bruens. Beloved wife of the late Jack R. Jewell. Loving mother of John Susan , Jean Dick Risch, Jim Jeanne , Tom Roxane, Tim Theresa and Bob Lisa Jewell. Proud grandmother of Christy J.D., John Jamie, Joe Crystal, Kim Andy, Stephanie, Katie, Jenny, Dan, Lisa, Sara, Matt, Becca, Jake, Peter, Josh, Jessie, Jordan, Lucas and Adell. Great grandmother of John, Sam, Carter, Ava and Isabelle. Dearest sister of Betty Gehl. Further survived by other relatives and numerous good friends. Visitation at the funeral home Friday, Dec. 17th 4-7 pm with a vigil service at 7:00 pm. Please meet Saturday, Dec. 18th at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC FAITH COMMUNITY 9520 W. Forest Home Ave. at 1:30 pm for Mass of Christian Burial, Rev. Leonard Barbian officiating. Interment to follow at St. Martin of Tours Church Cemetery. Shirley was a 1949 Marquette University graduate, Chi Sigma Chi Sorority, teacher, coach and den mother. Mom was a lover of the great north woods and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her cottage in Eagle River. Shirley spent her life living and sharing her deep faith. Special thank you to the staff of St. Luke’s Hospital for their loving care of Shirley and her family. Many thanks to all of Mom’s wonderful friends and neighbors for helping us keep her at home.
