Sorry to hear of the loss.
I’m sorry for our loss and happy for her. She was a mentor that has and will live within me.
I didn’t know she had died. I was just about to try to call her to talk about her family history. Her mother was my grandma’s sister, so she was a cousin of mine. We saw her a few times in Longmont, Colo., then she and Sister Marie Gerard came to visit us in Crete, NE a couple of times. What a wonderful woman. I’m sure God had a special place reserved for her in heaven.
I did not know that Sr. Justine had passed away! She was one of my favorite teachers, advisors, and friends from my days at Stritch, always encouraging and delightful as well as insightful in her counseling. I remember how excited she was for me when I called to tell her that I was teaching Kindergarten, even though one of my degrees was in pre-Law. We chuckled about how many ways the two careers could jive with some of their methods. I will always remember when she told me that the school was expanding “on a wing, a prayer, and not one dime.’ A beloved lady, for sure.
