Haben, SSSF

Age 95, died August 28, 2021. Sr. Laureen is a native of Skokie, Illinois, born on November 20, 1925, to Raymond W. and Margaret Seul Haben. Sr. Laureen entered the School Sisters of St. Francis, Milwaukee, WI.  She received degrees from Alverno College and Loyola University equipping her to teach young children for thirty-eight years.  She retired from teaching in Illinois and in Wisconsin’s Alverno Campus Elementary School.  In her retirement she wrote stories preserving her family histories.

Devoted daughter of the late Margaret and Ray Haben; beloved sister of Joyce (the late Robert) Burke, of Wilmette, IL, the late Marcelline (the late Joseph) Valenti, of Chicago, IL, and the late R. William (Barbara) Haben, of Skokie, IL; loved aunt by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews of the Valenti, Haben and Burke Families.  She is also survived by her School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for seventy-seven years.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 3, 2021.
