Supee “Noy” Ryan

Died unexpectedly on February 26, 2023.  She was 76 years old.  Beloved wife of Joe for over 52 years.  Loving mother of Mikey.  Dear sister-in-law of Kathy & Ross Bowman, Rosie Lipovsek, Susie Barbian and John & Carol Ryan.  Fond aunt of Deedee Bowman, Shawn Bowman, T.J. Lipovsek and Rachel (Jason) Schulz.  She is further survived by many good and dear friends.

Noy was an excellent chef and worked at several restaurants over the years where she introduced many Milwaukeeans to traditional Thai cuisine. Her pride and joy was The Bangkok Orchid on Milwaukee’s Eastside where Noy, along with her husband, owned and operated the restaurant from 1988 until 2006 and where she was the main chef and a large-than-life presence in the kitchen.

Noy was proud of her Thai heritage and was very active in Milwaukee’s Thai community.  She was instrumental in helping establish the National Avenue Temple and also helped the Thai community proudly showcase Thai traditions and culture a part of the Holiday Folk Fair.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate and honor Noy’s life and legacy on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at An Ox Café, 7411 W. Hampton Avenue, Milwaukee, WI  53218.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorials to the family are greatly appreciated.  Joe and Mikey will decide upon a charity that they feel best represents Noy’s passions and will decide later as to where donations will be directed.

Without a doubt, one of the finest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her love of life was enormous, her devotion to family was incredible. Met Noy and Joe in 1980 and always saw a totally devoted couple. God took a beautiful soul. All my prayers to Joe and Mike.
