Susan E. Wendorf (nee Jens)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Ellen Wendorf (nee Jens), who left us peacefully on November 30th, 2024 at the age of 82 for Eternal Life with our Savior. Sue is deeply missed by her husband Fred Wendorf with whom she shared 60 years of married life filled with love and laughter.
Born on August 4, 1942 in Milwaukee to Gerald and Ellen Jens (nee Nordly), she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sue lived a life full of love, strength, and compassion, dedicating herself to her family and always holding a special place in her heart for our animal friends. She loved her career working with special needs children for the Greenfield School District, even driving the bus on student outings – a career that touched many lives including her own.
Susan is survived by her husband Fred, her son Peter (Amy) Wendorf and their children Aaron, Elizabeth and Laura, and her granddaughter Ella Kay Durham (fiancé Wyatt Scalio) who was raised in a life of love with Fred and Sue. Sue is preceded in death by her daughter Sara Kay Wendorf and Sue’s brother Ken Jens. She is further survived by her loving extended family including her family in North Carolina : Beth Brissette, Scott Jens, Brian Jens and Amy Jens and their spouses and children, Judy (John) Diliberti, Ruth (Dave) Dodson, Mark Diliberti, and Heather (Andrew) Bubolz. She is also survived by her dear cousin Bob Hintz and his family. Susan was also surrounded by a dear group of friends and neighbors, and we encourage all who knew her to celebrate a life well lived.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, December 6th, 2024 at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME (4800 S 84th Street Greenfield, WI) from 4pm to time of service at 6pm.
If so desired memorials to Dementia Society of America or Hales Corners Lutheran Church greatly appreciated.
