Suzanne (Sue) Weber, RN, M.S., BSN
[aka: Suzanne Mary Renatta nee Brodzeller Weber]
(February 19, 1930 – April 03, 2020)
Our mother, sister, grandmother and friend passed away, to be Born to Eternal Life on April 3rd, 2020 at the age of 90. Sue was the beloved wife of C. Edward Weber for over 65 years. They had met in the very first week as freshmen at Marquette University in 1948. Sue and Ed were married in September of 1952. Sue earned her BSN a few months before their marriage, then worked in that capacity until the birth of her son, Paul, in 1956; a second son, Mark, being born in 1958. As romantic partners they worked and played in the dynamic decades that they were to live in. Sue’s sister, Barbara (Wayne) Kollath shared a devoted confidence that sparkled in advocacy and support for each other. (“…(I) had the the pleasure of having (a blessed) big sister.”)
Sue was superb in involving herself in the betterment of humanity. While Ed taught at the University of Pittsburgh, Sue completed her M.S. in Library Science in 1965. She taught student nurses at UWM in the 1970’s; worked as Coordinator of Community Education for the Milwaukee chapter of the American Red Cross in the 1980s and 1990s; mentored 2nd grade children as a Forever Friend for many years. She was the key player who supported her dear husband in his professional and spiritual endeavors. Her sons Paul Weber (Li Wang) and Mark (Annette) Weber fondly recall a mother who did not forget to motivate for their best the outcome for both. Sue was the cherished grandmother of Celeste (Jason), Alex, Doug, and Katrina (Brett). Katrina said: “Grandma Sue was always so supportive…so invested in my life and really cared about me.”
Sue’s friend Ruth wrote: “…Sue was dedicated to her family, to nursing and to her Faith. …was loving, generous and always the perfect hostess. She will always be with me.”
