Spaetti, Theodore “Ted” C.
Called home to the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2019 at the age of 70 years. Beloved Husband of Helen (nee Reger). Dear Father of Michele (Geoff) Zernicke and Andrea (Paul) Jonas. Loving Papa of Faith, Josephine and Dominic. Brother-in-law of Marcia (Larry) Nast and Ed (Karla) Reger. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Ted was born on September 10, 1948, in Evansville, Indiana to Theodore and Alvera Spaetti. He attended Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, IN.
Ted met the love of his life, Helen, to whom he was married in August of 1970.
In 1973, after being honorably discharged from the Navy, Ted and Helen moved to Helen’s hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ted accepted a position at Allen-Bradley Corporation (now known as Rockwell Automation), where he worked for the ensuing 30 years until his retirement.
Ted’s interests included trap shooting, hunting, fishing, and model trains. He loved to travel the world with Helen. He loved to ride his Harley. He loved Bob Seger and the Boss. He loved the occasional Jack Daniels (or two). Most of all, he loved spending time with, and taking care of, his family and many friends. Ted was known for his quiet strength and humility, and for the unfailing kindness and respect he showed towards everyone he met. He was universally loved and respected in return. He was frequently described by his daughters, accurately by all accounts, as “the cutest man alive.”
A visitation and funeral Mass will be held at Christ King Parish in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on Monday, April 22, 2019, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM and a Mass at 10:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dear Helen, Michele, Andrea, and families. We are so heartbroken at the loss of Ted-such a wonderful cousin and friend. While we know he is in a much better place, the tears still flow.
All our love, Keith & Bev
Nothing but good times and wonderful memories of Ted. A giving, caring and fun man. I am grateful for all he did to enhance my career at Rockwell. Working with him was truly my pleasure! His Lord will now care for him for all eternity.
Please accept our deepest sympathy. We always looked forward to our visits with Ted (and Helen). We loved hearing of their adventures!
He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Ted was my best friend while on board the USS Leahy during his and my Navy years. (1969-1972) We were very fortunate in that Ted, Helen my wife Cheryl and I became good couple friends and have remained so even after leaving the Navy.I will never forget Ted. He truly was one the the best people I have ever met. Love you Ted!!!
“…….Ted was known for his quiet strength and humility, and for the unfailing kindness and respect he showed towards everyone he met……” Having worked with Ted, closely at times, over 30 years at Rockwell Automation, this perfectly captures the first thought that comes to mind when I think of Ted. I was blessed to have worked with him for so long.
My condolences to Helen and the entire family.
Ted is one of those people I will always remember as being approachable and genuine. Working together at Rockwell Automation, these qualities and so many other positives stand out as characteristic of Ted. Most of all, he was a friend.
Our sympathy and prayers, Helen and entire Spaetti family, in this difficult time.
Ted was a wonderful person to work with, and was helpful and kind to everyone. I’m glad to have known him. My deepest sympathy to Ted’s family.
My deepest sympathy to the family of Ted. I have a lot of very fond memories of Bow Hunting with him at my place in Necedah. He was a great guy and will be missed by all.

My condolences and prayers go out to the Spaetti family. This is a wonderful tribute that captures Ted’s charm and personality. I had the honor of knowing and working with Ted on and off through his great career at Allen Bradley/Rockwell. Ted and I met when we started on the same day back in 1981 and stayed in contact from that point forward, truly a great person.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
My deepest sympathies to Helen and family. All I can say is I am so glad I had the opportunity to work along side Ted and to have known the wonderful person he was – generous and kind in his “cute” way. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family n this difficult time.
Sending our deepest sympathies to the family of Mr. Spaetti. We wish we got to know him. He sounds like an amazing man and know for sure he helped raise an amazing daughter. His legacy will live on.
I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Ted for many years. He was an A-B icon. He enriched my time at A-B/Rockwell and I’m sure he did the same for many others. He will be missed by many and remembered by all who had the chance to know and work with him. My sincerest and deepest sympathy to Ted’s family. Know that he was a great guy who enriched our lives.
