THOMAS W. MACIEJCZAK

Beaver Dam – Thomas Maciejczak left this world to join his Savior in heaven on Monday April 12 2021 after a very sudden medical emergency. (He would want everyone to know it had nothing to do with Covid-19!) Beloved husband of Marilynne (Mull) Maciejczak for 58 years. Loved Dad of Daniel (Melyssa) Maciejczak, Michele (Craig) Weiss, Kurt (Mary) Maciejczak, and Jean (Adam) Morzy. Adored Grandpa of Eric, Paul, Amy, Amanda, Nathan, Aaron, Adam, Alex, Alivia, Dylan, & Jacob. Revered Great-Grandpa of Kendall. Thomas is also survived by his two beloved sisters Lois Hansen and Susan Utnehmer, super-special friends Carl & Bonnie Koether, and an uncountable number of family and friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents (Raymond & Lois Maciejczak) as well as 2 infant children (Robert & Susan).

Thomas was born March 15th, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI. and lived his entire childhood there. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1958, where he met the love of his life, Marilynne. They did not date in high school, but re-connected after Marilynne returned to the area after college. They were married on October 27, 1962, and the rest (as they say) is history. They began their life together in an upper flat apartment in Milwaukee. They proceeded to have 6 children together. In 1969, Tom & Marilynne built  a new house in Greenfield. In 1978, they purchased a 13 acre “farmette” out in Honey Creek. Tom and Marilynne also purchased a small cottage on Minette Lake, which was heavily utilized every summer. In 2003, a blessing in disguise took place as the little red cottage was destroyed in a fire. Tom became the project manager, and was able to create his dream log cabin in the woods. Jim Howell (bother-in-law) and Craig Weiss (son-in-law) were heavily involved in the re-construction of the property. The cabin became a lake-house, which became Tom’s pride and joy. The efforts of all became cherished times, and countless memories were (and still are) created there.

Thomas had a very successful work career which never really ended. He started as a foundry worker at Crucible Steel. He then decided foundry work wasn’t what he wanted to do forever, and began taking night college courses at MATC. He then worked at Allis Chalmers, Abex Corporation, Casting Consultants, then Wollaston Alloys. While Thomas was experiencing great success as sales executive, he really began to hate the constant travel that took him away from Marilynne and his family. He dreamed about retiring from the “rat race” and farming for a living.

In 1985, Tom & Marilynne made the life-changing decision to purchase a 158-acre working farm in Fairchild Wisconsin. They slowly began transitioning into farming as Tom’s full-time occupation. While he loved the work and life-style, full time farming just wasn’t financially feasible, so Tom re-invented himself a number of times. He worked as a car salesman and a print supply salesperson for multiple years, but he yearned to work for himself. In 2001, Thomas started his own company, Eagle Reprographics, which is still viable today. He started out with a storefront in a shopping mall in Eau Claire, WI. , but – after a few years – moved the business into his home in Fairchild.

Throughout his life, Thomas served his church and his community with countless different roles. He most recently served as President of his church in Neilsville for many years. Thomas was also elected Chairman of Cleveland (Township) 3 different times, and led the Fire Board and the Planning Commission there.

Finally, in 2018, Tom & Marilynne decided to sell the farm and move closer to their children and grandchildren – who mostly reside in SE Wisconsin. They purchased a lovely home in Beaver Dam – which was a god-send for both them and their children. Tom never fully retired, still working his Eagle Reprographics business 2 days a week right up to his passing.

While Tom was known for being a bit feisty at times, he had such a special close relationship with his daughters Michele’ and Jean. He was their rock, a role model, confidant, and booster – no matter what.

Tom enjoyed his Lakehouse up north, bi-annual Canadian fishing trips, his 1949 Chevrolet, and smoking cigars/ sipping scotch/ playing sheepshead with his sons. He is truly the patriarch of his family and will be desperately missed by everyone he knew.

Visitation will be held at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church (8601 W Forest Home Road Greenfield, WI.) on Monday April 19th, 2021 from 10:00am – 12:30pm – service to follow. Brief grave-side ceremony at Good Hope Cemetery after the service – procession will be organized by Heritage Funeral Services. Meal will be provided by the family at Meyer’s Restaurant (4260 S 76th Street  Greenfield, WI.) at 3pm.

Thomas was heavily involved in creating the Early Learning Center (Day Care and Pre-School) at St. John’s in Neilsville. They are currently fund-raising to purchase playground equipment for it. If you are so moved, the family would like to request memorials to this project in lieu of flowers. (Checks made to St. John’s Neilsville.)

So sorry for your loss, My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I never met Tom, but when we talked on the phone for his business orders he was a pleasure to talk to. He would always tell me about the weather as I was always jealous he got snow. He always talked of his adventures with his family. Rest in Peace Tom.

I just learned of Tom’s passing and wanted to send my sincere sympathies and prayers for peace during this difficult time. I knew Tom through our place of work at SC Swiderski, LLC as we had worked with him for many years. I will never forgot the Ferrero Rocher chocolates and cd he would gift us every Christmas. I always thought he was such a wonderful man and seeing the family video and reading of his life, proved just that.
