Thomas Raymond Thompson

Sadly, my husband, Tom (“Tommy”) Thompson passed away in Milwaukee, on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at age 64, due to complications from Covid-19.  Tom was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 12, 1956 to Floyd “Red” and Margaret Imogene (nee McHugh) Thompson.

Tom grew up exploring and discovering everywhere he went, especially in Germantown at age 5 and all of the Milwaukee area.  He loved fishing and camping and riding his bike. He was always inquisitive and asked questions everywhere he went – he just wanted to know something about everything.  He was like the “Tom Sawyer” of his time.

Tom attended Milwaukee area schools, South Division High School, Upstart at Marquette University, and later received a degree in Microbiology while in the U.S. Army in Germany and Tulane University.

In the U.S. Army, Tom was a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic.  In Milwaukee, Tom had a variety of jobs:  Apprenticeship Funeral Director, Diener (Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Morgue), Mitchell Novelty, Stage Handler, Select Sound Service (Sales), Ameritech (Sr. Technician at MCW), Exp@nets, Avaya, NEC (Field Engineer), D&R Automotive (Manager).  His own businesses were: GETS-U Productions (Owner/Technician-Special Effects) and T-Com Solutions, LLC.

On November 8, 2003 – Tom was married to Kathleen Marie Janisse at St. Patrick’s Church in Adell, Wisconsin. It was a quaint, Irish wedding – the stone church was hand built by Kathy’s ancestors with a celebration at 52 Stafford in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

Tom is survived by his wife, Kathy (and her family: Jim (Pam) Janisse, Steve Janisse, and Kay Goodwin); Sons: Damien Thompson, (Grandson Xander P-B. Thompson); Nicholas Thompson (Fran Bell) (Grandson Emmett John Thompson) Zach and Todd Bell; Sisters: Judy Lesko, Karen (Dennis) Skonecki; Brothers: John P. (Linda) Thompson, William Thompson; Numerous cousins; nieces Cindy Dauss, Carie (Darrell) Nachreiner, Angie (Steven) Johnson, Valerie (David) Venegas; nephews, Robert (Sharie) Lesko Jr., Ronald Lesko, David (Karin) Amodio, Michael (Eleanora) Amodio and Steven (Danielle) Amodio; great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews and one great-great-great niece.

Tom was preceeded in death by his Father and Mother, Mother-in-law, Marie Janisse of Plymouth, WI; Brothers-in-law: Robert Lesko, Sr., Jack Goodwin and Dan Janisse; and niece Kim M. Thompson Murley.

Family and friends will gather at the Heritage Funeral Home 16880 W. National Avenue in New Berlin on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 1-4 pm.  A prayer service & sharing of memories will begin at 4:00 PM.

I miss you dad. We didn’t always see eye but father and son do always. But I love you and you love me. I’m sorry that we never had enough time there is never enough time.i will never forget the things you taught me or the nasty smell of your old lady underwear drawer candy (Viloets) but those German candies were the best along with beef jerky fairy food and glass coke. I loved going to lunch and trade shows with you it will always be a part of me just like how you taught me to drive stick.

I am so very sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. Although I only met him once, he seemed like a good man, and this is why I am writing. In January 2020 he came to my home and took pieces of my 1986 Rowe AMI juke box to repair. Sadly, he was never able to return them. This juke box is very sentimental to me, and it can never be replaced. So, if there is any way you might be able to help me retrieve them I would appreciate it so very much. I do not want my money back, just the pieces to my juke box. Please contact me regarding this. I have tried sending letters regarding this to the addresses I have on file for T Com Solutions but I have received no reply as of yet, so any help you can give me would be much appreciated. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss.

I’m sorry u had to leave us so early. The few times I was able to get together with you was always a good time. The boys will always remember the things you did for them n the stuff you provided for them. I love you Tom and I will do everything I can to keep your son and grandkids happy and healthy.
    All my love, Fran

Tom was a terrific friend. He would call me looking for a part. I would get it, bag it & put it out in back of my shop so he could pick it up the next day. I enjoyed being with him. He would ask a question & most of the time I had a answer. I was heart broken to find he passed.

Kathy, I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing and I want to express my most sincere sympathies to you and your family during this difficult time. Tom was a kind and gentle man, who smiled through adversity and provided joy to you and your family. The effects of his passing are already being felt here in Microbiology and beyond at MCW.

He will be greatly missed. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and friends during this time of sorrow.

    With sincere sympathy,
