Schmitt, Virginia Rose “Mikki”
(nee Peltier) died quietly at home among her family in the early hours of Easter Monday.
The second of Clarence and Marie Peltier’s nine children, Mikki became a registered nurse and later a homemaker, and was always a staunch Roman Catholic. She had enlisted “for my family”, and indeed, Mikki’s lifelong motto was “Family sticks together”.
Mikki is preceded in death by her son Andrew Joseph Schmitt and her granddaughter Bernadette Rose Schmitt. Mikki is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bernard, and their children: Madelaine (Weigel), Christopher Schmitt, and Ellen (Gotthart), as well as her grandchildren Erik, Michael, and Monica Gotthart, and Emma, Stephen, and Virginia Weigel.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the FUNERAL HOME from 5 to 7:30 PM. Traditional Requiem High Mass will be Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church (524 W. Historic Mitchell Street) at 9:30 AM. Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery.
