Of Town of Raymond, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Loving Husband and best friend of Jacquelyn (Nee Paap). Dear Father of Susan (John) Andrews, Lori (Marc) Gliatas and Lisa (Mark) Reiss. Loved Grandfather of Erin (Wally) Matoska, Ryan Andrews, Nick and Alyssa Gliatas, Megan (Jeff) Olle, Emily (Michael) Miller and Keely Reiss. Great-Grandfather of Wyatt, Evie and Vinny. Brother of Maurice (Virginia) and Norman (Sandy) Becker. Brother-in-law of the late Janice Wright and Georgia (Wally) Hansen. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the FUNERAL HOME from 1PM until the time of service at 3PM. The Rev. Bradley Brown officiating. Interment Monday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wally graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1952 as a research pharmacist, registered in Ohio, Wisconsin and Puerto Rico. He began to work at Merrill Laboratories in Cincinnati, Ohio; later returning to Wisconsin to work as Director of Pharmaceutical Research at Lakeside Laboratories. For the following 21 years, Wally worked in pharmaceutical research at Abbott Laboratories in Chicago, Illinois. There he specialized in formulation, obtaining 5 patents including Depakote, a blockbuster drug for the company. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, golf and growing roses. He loved travel and time spent with friends, especially in Door County. Being with his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren was a special happy time.
