Walter Arthur
Dickmann
Walter Arthur Dickmann, age 88, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. A life well lived from February 17, 1934 to October 15, 2022. Beloved husband of Marianne Dickmann for 58 years; loving father of Angela (Ronnie) Buegeler, Maria (Randy) Burant, and Mickey (Corey) Binnebose; dear grandfather of Kayla (Grant) Reimer, Dana, Lucas, and Cassie; great-grandfather of Beckham.
Wally served in the armed forces, protecting Detroit (as he would say) with an emphasis on radar systems. This experience led him to his job at Delco Electronics and also aided him in earning his bachelor’s degree from MSOE. Wally retired as a senior reliability engineer from Delco at his goal age of 58 ½ years old.
Volunteering was very important to Wally. He spent 28 years on the Oak Creek Planning Commission and also served on the OC Chamber of Commerce and the OC Parks and Recreation Commission. In 2001, he felt honored to be awarded the Oak Creek Citizen Of The Year. He also spent time helping seniors with their taxes and taught a safe driving class for them.
Wally loved to help others, travel, camp up north, play games, tell jokes, watch sports and spend quality time with family and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Laura McGartland, the oncology nurses at St. Lukes and Aurora Hospice for the loving care they provided.
Join the family for a joyful Celebration of Life on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 5-8pm at the Oak Creek Community Center located at 8580 S Howell Ave, Oak Creek, WI 53154. Appetizers and refreshments will be served. At 7pm, please join the family for a prayer and tributes to Wally.
Mr. Dickmann was one of my favorite people. He was full of life and never short on jokes, smiles, or laughs. Some of my favorite memories are from going to the dog track with him. My heart aches for the Dickmann family, especially my dear friend Mickey. I hope you all find peace and comfort in all of the happy times you spent with him. All my love – Denise

Mr. Dickmann was such a wonderful man. He always had a way of lighting up the room with his jokes. most of them made you groan but we would always end up laughing. Mr. and Mrs. Dickmann taught me to waterski (something I still do today).and were always there for us as kids. So thankful for the memories, May he Rest In Peace.
