Willard John
Kniep
Kniep, Willard
Willard John Kniep was born June 16, 1926 to John and Mary Williams Kniep. He had one sister Lorraine Ammon.
On October 26, 1949 he married Mae Steinbicer. Together they had almost 53 years of happiness. They enjoyed roller skating, dancing every Saturday night, going out for breakfast and most of all just being with family and friends.
Willard had four children: Daniel, John, Patricia and Colleen. Seven Grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Jeffrey, Stacey, Cody, Bryce and Olivia. And 2 Great Grandchildren: Jessica and Jenna.
He also had a very special friend in his dog ?Heidi?
He always put his family first. There were many Christmas?s when he would be out in his shop working for days on a very special present. He could take pieces of this and pieces of that and a little paint and have something very special.
Dad loved to build and work with his hands. He loved to dismantle buildings with his son-in-laws Keith and Patrick, and then put them up again to look like new. He was always fixing something for someone.
During his last years, he enjoyed restoring tractors. For one of his birthdays, us kids went to junkyards and got him parts for the tractor he was working on. When he saw all the parts, he looked at us and cried. It didn?t take a lot to make our Dad happy!
He had a wide variety of jobs in his life. He took over the farm at age 21, when his dad died. He did excavating, drove machinery, was a policeman, worked for AO Smith and up until his 2nd stroke was a custodian at the schools in East Troy. He truly loved working with the teachers and children at Chester Byrnes School.
Dad?s last 4 years have been a constant struggle for him and us. He?s had good days and several very hard days. But through it all he never quit telling us how much he loved us. He never could have survived this long without his faith and love from Mom.
We now know he?s at peace with God and his son Daniel and that gives us all much comfort. If I had to pick a father, I couldn?t have done any better
We love you Dad and you?ll be with us every day of our lives!!
