Bill was a proud Korean War Veteran (Army) and was involved with Post 416 in Greendale.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 22nd from 4-7pm at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME (4800 S 84th St, Greenfield) with a Time of Remembrance at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am the following day, Wednesday, June 23rd at ST VERONICA PARISH (353 E Norwich St, Milwaukee). Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
Bill came to Wilson Park Senior Center and joined the model railroad club. Bill and I worked on the N scale layout on Monday afternoons.
When he moved from Greenfield, I lost contact with him. Bill was a motivator. Even though the senior center is only now partially reopened,
I am still working on an improved railroad signal that Bill said we really needed.
Bill was the “sarge” in charge of an Army half-track with quad 50 caliber machine guns in Korea providing airfield security (anti-aircraft)..
We have an N scale model of that vehicle on a flat car on the layout. Bill was a veteran who was willing to answer my questions about his
service In Korea. I miss those talks and his friendship. We have a model of that vehicle mounted for shipment on a flat car on the layout.
That flat car and the signal, when I finish it, will remind me of Bill.
Bill was a veteran who was willing to answering my questions about service in Korea. I miss that and Bill’s friendship. I can imagine Bill in
a better place, building a train layout and telling someone what to do to make it better.
