Stemper, William “Bill”
Age 85 years, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on October 31, 1929 in Milwaukee to Herbert and Florence Stemper. While growing up in Bay View he graduated from Marquette University High School and attended Marquette University. He was employed as a stereotype for the Milwaukee Journal for 17 years. He then became a real estate broker and owner of Bill Stemper Insurance. Bill served on the West Allis planning commission, elected and served as Alderman in the 5th District in West Allis and was on the West Allis-West Milwaukee school board.
He married Virginia J. Pisarski on September 2, 1950. Bill enjoyed spending time with his children, 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In his retirement Bill worked for the Milwaukee Brewers and was known as “Bill on the Hill”. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dick, Tom and Larry. He is survived by his spouse Virginia; his children Susan (Donn) Berger of Mukwonago, Patrick (Diane) Stemper of Delafield, Debbie (Art) Plantiko of West Allis and Jane (David) Graves of Janesville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday NOON-1PM at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, 2360 S 106th ST., West Allis followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1PM. Private Interment.
Bill and Virginia are charter members at Mary Queen of Heaven. Bill was also a member of 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council 3095, the Monogram Club and the West Allis Retiree’s Club.
