Larger than life, Willie lived, laughed and loved his way through 60 beautiful years of life. On June 17, 2009, Willie lost his battle here on earth, but was born to eternal life in heaven. Husband and soulmate of Deborah, devoted and proud father of Harrison Gustave. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Minerva, and sisters, Ida Mae Howard Kemp, Willie Eyra, Mary Quinnell and Ruth Cecil Davis. He is survived by his sisters, Gloria Dade, Minerva Johnson, Quincy Morris Tharps, Shirley Jean Michaud, Linda Dennis Bedford, Alfreda Kevin Mayes and Patricia Dorsey-Lee. He was the awesome uncle of many wonderful nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the VA Hospital Hemodialysis Unit, Froedtert Hospital nurses and especially to Dr. Sam Blumenthal and Dr. Hariharan for the loving care provided to Willie over the years.
Visitation Saturday, July 4 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at DIVINITY DIVINE CHARITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 900 E. Henry Clay Ave., followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Service and because of his courageous service to the United States Marine Corps, military honors will take place on Tuesday, July 7 at 12:00 PM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI.
