Passed away on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Lauris Rozkalns, daughter Laima Rozkalns, son Davis Rozkalns, grandson Eizens Rozkalns, and sisters Rasa Babelnieks and Inese Zicmanis. Extended family feeling her loss includes Selga Irbe Rozklans, Peteris Irbe, Juris Babelnieks, Linda Ricard and family, as well as cousins in Latvia and elsewhere.
Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon August 30th from 1:30pm-2:00PM at the Latvian Lutheran Holy Trinity Church in Wauwatosa, with Archbishop Lauma Zušēvics leading a service at 2PM. Visitation and service will be followed by light refreshments at the church.
Zane was a life-long teacher, student, artist, Mom and good friend to many in the Wisconsin/Illinois/Michigan communities. Her artistic projects spanned Latvian designs in clay, stained glass, silver jewelry, fused glass, oil/acrylic painting and included numerous additional side projects. She was a long-time instructor at the Latvian Center Garezers in Michigan during summer camp and adult 3X3 seminars each summer. She will be missed by many.
