Meet Sarah, our Vice President and Licensed Funeral Director, known for her dedication to creating deeply personalized funerals. With her creative eye and artistic touch, Sarah brings a unique and lasting impression to every farewell she plans.
Sarah began her career path in Art Therapy at Mount Mary University, discovering the healing power of creativity and empathy. Her passion for supporting families led her to earn a degree in Mortuary Science from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2016.
Starting as an apprentice in 2013, Sarah gained valuable experience at two local funeral homes before joining Heritage, where she has become a trusted support for countless families. Her comforting and empathetic approach helps families find strength during the difficult process of saying goodbye.
A Milwaukee native, Sarah lives in Bay View with her husband and son. Outside of work, she enjoys various creative hobbies and has a large collection of funeral-related antiques, driven by her interest in preserving the history of the industry. Sarah is also a podcast enthusiast and enjoys working on her 1920s Craftsman home, adding her personal touch and maintaining its charm. Exploring flea markets and thrift stores for hidden treasures is another way she finds joy.
In 2020, Sarah participated in the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Meet the Mentors program, learning from industry leaders. In 2023, she became a Certified Celebrant, enabling her to create specialized ceremonies that celebrate unique lives and stories. Most recently, she was selected for the NFDA National Emerging Leaders Program for 2024-2025, showcasing her commitment to professional growth and leadership. Sarah also contributes to the field by serving on the Advisory Board for the Mortuary Science program at MATC, where she helps shape the curriculum and mentor future funeral directors.
With Sarah’s expertise, each funeral is a heartfelt tribute that honors the life and legacy of the loved one. Families can trust that their loved ones will be celebrated in the most meaningful way under her care.
